11 Eglin Airmen receive Articles 15 in January

In January, there were 11 Articles 15 on base.

Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge.

A senior airman assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman 1st class, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for driving under the influence.

A captain assigned to 96th Aerospace Medical Squadron received a forfeiture of $2,686 pay per month for two months, and a reprimand for three counts of negligent dereliction of duty (failed to refrain from driving on Eglin without a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance).

An airman 1st class assigned to 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman, forfeiture of $405 pay, and a reprimand for failure to go, false official statement, and malingering (feigning an illness).

An airman 1st class assigned to 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, 45 days restriction to base (15 days suspended), 45 days extra duty (15 days suspended), and a reprimand for driving under the influence.

An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Civil Engineer Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, 30 days restriction to Eglin, and a reprimand for failure to go, going from place of duty, and drunkenness (incapacitation for performance of duties).

An airman assigned to 96 CES received a reduction to airman basic, 30 days restriction to base, and a reprimand for failure to go, going from place of duty, and drunkenness (incapacitation for performance of duties).

An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Medical Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman, suspended forfeiture of $729 pay per month for two months, 15 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to refrain from drinking alcohol while under the age of 21).

A technical sergeant assigned to 9th Special Operations Squadron received a reduction to staff sergeant and a reprimand for negligent dereliction of duty (member failed to refrain from using their government travel charge card to make purchases and cash withdrawals for other than official government travel expenses).

An airman 1st class assigned to 46th Maintenance Operations Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman, 20 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failure to go and false official statement.

An airman 1st class assigned to 96 SFS received a reduction to airman, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to maintain a professional relationship with an NCO).

A senior airman assigned to 96th Comptroller Squadron received a reduction to airman 1st class, suspended forfeiture of $500 pay, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand for wrongful use of marijuana.
