Employee assistance programs are here to help

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- I am Katherine Frechette, a representative of Federal Occupational Health’s Employee Assistance Program and WorkLife4U Program..

Because problems in our personal lives can impact our peace of mind and our ability to effectively do our jobs, EAP is here for all life’s challenges - big or small.  EAP offers a full spectrum of services as a free benefit for civilian employees and consultative services to supervisors.  Services are voluntary, confidential and include short-term, solution-focused counseling by a licensed professional, as well as legal and financial consultations with legal and financial experts.

Employees may seek voluntary short-term counseling and referrals for varied reasons such as work-related stress; relationship challenges; parental concerns for a child; grief/loss; substance abuse; anxiety and depression.  The EAP consultant is here to help.  The ultimate goal is to help make burdens lighter and ways feel smoother.

In October, a new program benefit called WorkLife4U was included in employee benefits.  Worklife4You can provide employees with information and referrals to assist with pregnancy, child and elder care, college financial aid issues and much more.   Additionally, employees may request free educational materials.

Supervisors can contact me to learn more about EAP benefits and/or request a briefing or Health and Wellness Presentation onsite for their employees.  EAP and Worklife4U brochures and posters are always available upon request.

Employees can easily access their EAP and WorkLife4You experts at 1-800-222-0364, 24/7.  Employees and supervisors can visit the EAP office, located at 307 East C Ave, Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-3p.m., or call 882-1551.
