Georgia Air National Guard officially retires first of 16 JSTARS aircraft

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. — An E-8C Joint STARS aircraft taxis on the ramp prior to its final departure at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Feb. 11, 2022. The primary mission of Joint STARS is to provide theater ground and air commanders with ground surveillance to support attack operations and targeting that contributes to the delay, disruption and destruction of enemy forces.
