Lt. Col. Brett "Zipper" Robison is the Deputy Director of the F-35 Academic Training Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. He is an Air Force Reserve Command officer providing the air reserve component presence within the 33rd Fighter Wing. Colonel Robison is responsible for all aspects of pilot and maintainer ground training associated with the F-35 Lightning II and oversees a 260,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility with the capacity for training in excess of 2,100 U.S. and international pilot and maintenance students annually.
Colonel Robison entered the Air Force in 1995 from the Ohio University Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Athens, Ohio. He completed flight training at Sheppard AFB, Texas, in 1996 and has subsequently completed numerous tours in F-16 operational units. Colonel Robison's previous assignment was with the 84th Test and Evaluation Squadron and was integrated with the 28th Test and Evaluation Squadron as the F-16 project manager and test director at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. He was responsible for defining requirements for avionics updates to 616 Block 40/50 F-16s and operational testing of the software prior to fielding. A graduate of the Air Force F-16 Weapons School, Colonel Robison is a command pilot with more than 2,900 hours in the F-16 and 350 combat hours gained in combat operations in Southwest Asia.
