Colonel Stephen F. Jost, is Commander, 33d Operations Group, Air Force Education and Training Command, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. He is responsible for F-35 A/B/C Lightning II flight training for the Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force flying squadrons. Initially, 59 aircraft will be established at Eglin Air Force Base.

Colonel Jost was commissioned in 1994 through the United States Air Force Academy with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Prior to his selection as the 33rd Operations Group commander, Colonel Jost served as the 35th Fighter Wing Director of Staff. He held various operational F-16 flying positions and served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he informed the Chairman on combat aircraft capability requirements. He has flown missions in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, Operation NOBLE EAGLE, and Korean defense obligations. Colonel Jost is a Command Pilot with more than 2300 hours in the F-16 Falcon.
