CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MARCUS R. SNODDY
Chief Master Sgt. Marcus R. Snoddy is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 96th Test Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. In this capacity he serves as principal advisor to the wing commander on personnel issues affecting an organization of more than 9,800 military, civilian, and contractors.
The 96th Test Wing provides developmental testing and evaluation of conventional munitions, command and control systems, and aircraft avionics and guidance systems. Additionally, the wing provides all base operating support, infrastructure, and services support for the Department of Defense's largest installation (724 sq miles) comprised of seven tenant wing or wing-equivalent units, to include the 33rd Fighter Wing (F-35 Joint Strike Fighter), the Army's 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Naval School Explosive Ordinance Disposal, and 37 other associate units including the Army's 6th Ranger Training Battalion and the Air Force's 20th Space Control Squadron. He advises the commanders and their senior staff on matters of military readiness, morale, quality of life, professional development and effective utilization of personnel.
Chief Snoddy entered active duty Jan 3, 1985. His background includes numerous leadership roles at squadron, group, numbered air force, major, joint and combatant command levels. He has been stationed at various bases in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Germany, Turkey and the U.S. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Command Chief, 455 Air Expeditionary Wing, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.
