SHORE BIRD / SEA TURTLE NEST
Each spring the threatened least tern, snowy plover, and a variety of shorebirds as well as endangered the loggerhead and green sea turtles use Eglin's beaches for nesting.
Eglin's natural resource managers post signs to prevent inadvertent damage to nesting areas by beachcombers. Eglin's beaches have about 40 sea turtle nests each year.
