EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Airmen with the 96th Medical Group enters the triage site to begin diagnosing patients at the Eglin hospital during an exercise April 27. The exercise simulated a naturally occurring outbreak of disease involving pneumonic plague. As a result, the base hospital became the main triage site where medical personnel diagnosed the potentially infected. Patients identified as infected were isolated to prevent further spread of the pandemic and for additional surveillance.
