Mobility Impaired Hunt
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Stephen, Stephanie and Earl Leavins pose with an eight-point whitetail deer Stephanie took at the 2008 Eglin Air Force Base Mobility Impaired Hunt. Stephanie's rifle is mounted on a swivel stand connected to her chair. She activates the trigger on the chairs footplate which sends an electrical charge to a solenoid, manually firing the gun. This is her fourteenth year on the hunt. It is the only weekend out of the year she gets to go to the woods. The special hunt, conducted by Jackson Guard, is limited to 50 hunters every year.
