Mobility Impaired Hunt

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Stephanie Leavins' rifle is mounted on a swivel stand connected to her motorized wheel chair. By her father's design, she activates the trigger on the chair's footplate which sends an electrical charge to a solenoid, manually firing the gun. Every year, Stephanie and the Leavins family join other hunters at the Eglin Air Force Base Mobility Impaired Hunt. Stephanie harvested an eight-point buck this season. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Earl and Stephanie Leavins, of Bagdad, Fla., setup for a Feb. 3 hunt at the 2008 Eglin Air Force Base Mobility Impaired Hunt. Stephanie is confined to a wheel chair with limited movement due to muscular dystrophy. This is her fourteenth year on the hunt. Stephanie's rifle is mounted on a swivel stand connected to her chair.
