Assist

Ryan Schweitzer, assists Robert Ross with the instruction of the Kuk Sool Won class at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Schweitzer, son of Master Sgt. Kevin Schweitzer, 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron, earned his black belt in June. The 12-year-old has been training for four years. Kuk Sool Won encompasses many different "styles" of traditional martial arts. It combines kicking, punching, throwing, falling, and joint-locking as well as a myriad of weapons techniques into a dynamic 'hard-soft' style, emphasizing speed and fluidity. Coach of the Year

Tim Sandlin, 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron, waits for his pitch during the base intramural softball championship Aug. 2 at Eglin’s Foster Stadium. The 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron team came up from the losers’ bracket to defeat MDG twice to claim the title in the double elimination tournament.
