Eglin's new quad dorms
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- (From left) Col. David Maharrey, 96th Civil Engineer Group commander, Airman 1st Class Tamtra Chaison, 96th Security Forces Squadron, and Col. Bruce McClintock, 96th Air Base Wing commander cut the cermonial ribbon. The completion of the three-quad Dorm 18 was commemorated June 18, with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a tour of the rooms. Airmen from the 96th Security Forces Squadron and 96th Civil Engineer Group will be the first to occupy the new quad dorms.The The total cost of construction of the three dorm complex topped 13.5 million and the 96th Air Base Wing invested $10,000 in quality of life items like individual air control for each room and individual refrigerators. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Staff Sgt. Crystal Taylor, Enlisted Advisory Council president, posses with Share-A-Ride signs that will be placed near stops where Eglin servicemembers can catch a ride from someone passing by. The program, beginning April 1, is based on volunteers stopping and helping out a Team Eglin member by giving them a ride.
