The 96th Security Forces Squadron was recently named Air Force Material Command’s Outstanding Active Duty Large Security Forces Unit for 2015. The unit’s accomplishments include providing security for Eglin’s 463,000-plus acre range, supporting countless test missions, flight operations and base entry control. In addition to winning several additional wing, major command and Air Force-level individual awards, the unit regularly provides community support outside the gates, from working with local law enforcement solving criminal cases to assisting in local causes.
