Special guest Derek Vincent, 6, shows his father Jeff Vincent, the 40th Flight Squadron patch he received from a pilot while on tour with the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron June 27. Vincent was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January and recently battled six weeks of radiation unsuccessfully in Memphis, Tenn. Flowers are placed at the 33rd Fighter Wing's Nomad Memorial on the 18th anniversary of the tragic Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia June 25. The memorial wall and flaming sword were constructed in 1997 to honor the 12 Nomads killed. Nineteen U.S. servicemembers gave the ultimate sacrifice and 400 casualties were reported.
