01. What hours are you open?
The Air Force Armament Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The outdoor air park is open seven days a week during daylight hours only. The museum is closed on Federal Holidays.
02. How much does it cost to get in?
Nothing; admission and parking are FREE.
03. What types of identification do foreign visitors need to visit the museum?
No identification is required to visit the main Museum complex.
04. How do I get to the museum?
The Air Force Aramament Museum is located on State Road 85 near State Road 189 and Eglin Air Force Base's West Gate. Travel time from U.S. 98 traveling north on Highway 85 in Fort Walton beach is about 10 minutes; and from Interstate 10 at Crestview, about 20 minutes.
05. How long does it take to see everything?
It is difficult to say, but we recommend a minimum half day.
06. Do you have wheelchairs or strollers to use while visiting the museum?
There is a limited supply of wheelchairs and strollers available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring your own wheelchair or stroller if possible.
07. Are guided tours available?
This is a self-guided museum with informational plaques for your reading enjoyment. Military organizations are the exception and are handled on a case-by-case basis, depending on available personnel.
08. Can you recommend a hotel to stay in?
Unfortunately, no. The Air Force Armament Museum is an official government organization and is forbidden to endorse any commercial establishment. 09. Can I park my motor home overnight at the Museum?
No, overnight parking is not permitted at the Museum.
10. Where can I have lunch while visiting?
No food or drink are allowed inside the museum; however, we have a small picnic area where food or drink is permitted -- but no alcoholic beverage. Please remember to help keep your museum grounds clean.

12. How can I get permission to view the interior of an aircraft?
Access to aircraft interiors is not permitted. The Museum has the responsibility to preserve the aircraft for your grandchildren and future generations. Therefore, aircraft cockpit/interior access is restricted to minimize damage.
13. Are there any aircraft cockpits or interiors open?
We have an A-10 cockpit simulator, and a F-15 cockpit simulator which are both mock-ups. They are available for sit-in.
14. I'm a scale modeler and I need three view drawings, detail photos, paint schemes, etc.
Due to the overwhelming demand for this type of information and the very limited number of staff members, the Museum cannot support modeler requests. However, the web site hopes to gradually add detail and cockpit photos to aircraft display pages.
15. Do you have service records, unit histories, USAF accident reports or Missing Air Crew Reports (MACR)?
No, however the following information should be helpful:
