Annual donation campaign begins

One of two sanctioned charitable drives in the Air Force, the CFC allows Team Eglin to channel the willingness of its people to support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. An excellent team of base project officers, unit project officers, coordinators and key workers are available to support you throughout the campaign that makes the whole process possible. This year's goal is to raise $750,000.

“Behind each charity is a personal story.”

The Combined Federal Campaign kicked off here last week.  This year’s campaign coordinator wants everyone to know this easy and safe way to donate makes huge differences in the lives of those who receive it.

“Just pausing for a moment to think of your own family’s struggles can help you visualize the burden your donated time and money could relieve,” said Capt. James Ellis, Air Force Armament Directorate. “This isn’t a mandatory donation campaign. It is simply an opportunity to educate people on the impact their love can have.”

This year’s goal is 100 percent contact with all federal employees between now and Nov. 22.  The captain provided just a few examples of the impacts donations can have.

$10 feeds a child in a refugee camp for three weeks.
$10 buys 50 books for preschoolers in a metropolitan area.
$30 provides a family of three with health kits following a disaster

The campaign will host two events in November to include a Charity Day at the Base Exchange and a 5-k run with dates and times to be announced shortly.
