Team Eglin has seven new chief selects

  • Published
More than 30 of Team Eglin’s officer and enlisted leadership descended on multiple strategic targets across the base Dec. 3.  This wasn’t a no-notice inspection or to check up on their Airmen, but to spread some good news.

The leadership’s targets were seven unaware senior master sergeants recently selected for chief in the current promotion cycle.

As the leadership caravan crisscrossed the base picking up new leaders, looks of shock, then joy occurred at each stop.

When the new selects addressed the crowd of their peers, the one through line for all was the goal could not have been reached alone.  Each spoke of the help and guidance they received throughout their career that allowed them to reach the enlisted pinnacle.

Only 479 senior master sergeants were selected this year out of 2,241 eligible for a selection rate of 21.37 percent.

Congratulations to the following chief master sergeant selectees:

96th Test Wing
Vincent Brass
Anthony Cauthen
Karissa Gunter
Thomas Perry
Jason Selman
33rd Fighter Wing
Gabriel Wright
53rd Wing
Larue Holliday
