Eglin Weather claims one-third of AFMC's annual awards

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Air Force Materiel Command is pleased to announce the following Weather Award candidates who will represent the command at the upcoming Air Force level competition. The nominees, by category, are:

Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Jordan Ransom, 78th Operations Support Squadron, Robins AFB, Georgia.

Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Olivier, 72nd Operations Support Squadron, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Shannon Byers, 96th Weather Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida.

Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Grant Talkington, 78th Operations Support Squadron, Robins AFB, Georgia.

Field Grade Officer of the Year: Maj. Nessa Hock, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.

Civilian Category I of the Year: Christopher Shipman, 75th Operations Support Squadron, Hill AFB, Utah.

Civilian Category II of the Year: Michael Scott, 96th Weather Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida.

Organization of the Year, Below Unit Level: 72nd Operations Support Squadron, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

Weather Squadron of the Year: 96th Weather Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida.
