Eglin hands out 18 Articles 15

In the months of September - November, there were 18 Articles 15 offered here on base.

Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge.

· An airman 1st class in the 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received forfeiture of $876 pay, 15 days extra duty, and a reprimand for larceny of military property.

· A senior airman in the 33rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction to the grade of A1C, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to properly dispose of hazardous waste materials) and making a false official statement.

· An A1C in the 33rd Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to the grade of airman basic and a reprimand for marijuana use.

· A SrA in the 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction to A1C, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to follow operating instructions.)

· A staff sergeant assigned to 46th AMXS received a forfeiture of $500 pay, 15 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to perform a pretow briefing prior to towing an aircraft) and damage to government property.

· A SrA assigned to 46th AMXS received suspended reduction to the grade of airman basic, restriction to the limits Eglin AFB for 30 days and a reprimand for failure to obey.

· A SrA assigned to 46th MXS received suspended reduction to A1C and 30 days extra duty for failure to go.

· An A1C assigned to 53rd Communications Systems Squadron received suspended reduction to airman, restriction to the limits of Eglin AFB for 30 days, and a reprimand for failure to obey.

· A technical sergeant assigned to 728th Air Control Squadron received suspended reduction to SSgt and a reprimand for failure to obey.

· An Airman assigned to 728th ACS received forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to refrain from consuming alcohol while under the age of 21).

· An A1C assigned to 96th Force Support Squadron received reduction to the grade of airman, 20 days extra duty, and a reprimand for larceny.

· A SrA assigned to 96th FSS received a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to refrain from using their government travel card while not on orders.)

· A SrA assigned to 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron received suspended reduction to A1C, suspended forfeiture of $929 pay per month for two months, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for assault consummated by battery.

· An A1C assigned to 96th Medical Operations Squadron received suspended reduction to airman basic, forfeiture of $699 pay per month for two months, restriction to the limits of Eglin Air Force Base for 60 days, and a reprimand for failure to obey.

· A Staff Sgt. assigned to 96th MDOS received suspended reduction to SrA, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (failed to follow operating instructions.)

· A SrA assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received reduction to the grade of Airman with reduction below A1C suspended, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failure to obey.

· A SrA assigned to 96th SFS received suspended reduction to A1C, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failure to go.

· A Tech. Sgt. assigned to 9th Air Force DET 33 received suspended reduction to Staff Sgt., forfeiture of $1,414 pay per month for two months and a reprimand for larceny and assimilated crime (took data without authorization belonging to another in violation of Section 815.04 of the Florida Statues Annotated assimilated into Federal law by 18 United States Code, Section 13.)
