The 96th Security Forces Squadron will modify the current procedures to sponsor visitors coming onto the installation beginning Jan. 1.

These procedures align with higher Air Force headquarters guidance and closes a potential security vulnerability to unauthorized access.

The modifications eliminate all phone call requests for visitor passes.

The new procedures provide sponsors two specific ways to request a visitor pass:

1.  For immediate access, a visitor should have a sponsor present at the Visitor Control Center to gain a base pass.

2.  A sponsor may send a digitally signed and encrypted email from a .mil address with all required information.  The information needed is: sponsor's full name, organization, phone number, DoD ID number or social security number, visit justification, destination, date(s) of visit, full name of visitor and date of birth.

The signed/encrypted email needs to be sent to 96sfs.s5b.passandreg@us.af.mil. Emails must be sent in accordance with privacy act policies.

A sponsor can submit the visitor request in person or via email up to 14 calendar days prior to the visitor's arrival.

Examples of visitors requiring a sponsor-requested pass include:  non-base affiliated-friends and family members with vehicles, non-base affiliated-furniture/appliance deliveries, moving companies for household good deliveries, etc.

These procedures do not impact food delivery drivers who have a separate base agreement.  They also do not change the "Trusted Traveler" practice, currently in use on base, according to 96th SFS.

“We continuously strive to provide professional customer service while maintaining installation security as our top priority,” said Tech. Sgt. William Taulbee, Pass and Registration NCO-in-charge.
