6/29/2011 - EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Tech. Sgt. Daniel L. Douville, 96th Civil Engineer Squadron, died June 26 as a result of injuries suffered from an improvised explosive device on the border of the Nad 'Ali district of Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Sergeant Douville, an explosive ordnance disposal technician stationed here, was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

"It is with great sadness we will add Tech. Sgt. Daniel Douville's name to the EOD Memorial Wall," said Col. Anthony Higdon, 96th Civil Engineer Group commander. "He was a husband, a father, a dedicated EOD technician and true patriot. The EOD mission is one of the most dangerous, yet critical operations needed in this war. We are indebted to him and his family for their sacrifice."

A memorial service will be announced in the near future.
