Gabriel J. Laramie serves as the Executive Director of the 96th Test Wing, Air Force Materiel Command, Eglin Air Force Base in Fla. He oversees a workforce of more than 10,000 military, civilian, and contractor personnel, in accomplishing the 96th TW’s mission of developmental testing and evaluation of conventional munitions, command and control systems, aircraft avionics and guidance systems, and radar cross section measurement. The 96th TW has eight groups and 32 squadrons and operates a fleet of 38 uniquely modified test aircraft, and manages 120,000 square miles of over-water test ranges, plus facilities in six states. He directs installation support functions for the Air Force’s largest installation at 726 square miles. The 96th TW hosts nine tenant wings and wing equivalent units – to include the 33rd Fighter Wing (F-35 Joint Strike Fighter), 53rd Wing (Operational Testing), 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing, the U.S. Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), and the Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training Center - and 37 associate units including the U.S. Army’s 6th Ranger Training Battalion and the 20th Space Surveillance Squadron. Mr. Laramie also plays a vital role in coordinating with local government leaders throughout a three-county, 11-city region, helping to sustain a regional economic impact of $10.8 billion.
Mr. Laramie began his career with the Department of Defense in 2005 and has held leadership positions with both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, providing morale, welfare, and recreation opportunities to service members stationed across the globe.
