Performance-based contractor meets with New Mexico Environment Department

Kirtland officials and Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure, Inc., the company awarded the contract for fuel plume remediation, met with officials from the New Mexico Environment Department to present details of their proposal for remediation of the fuel plume.

Shaw, which was awarded the $23 million performance-based contract, is charged with performing work to remediate the fuel plume associated with the bulk fuel storage facility.

Officials at Kirtland are committed to aggressively remediating the fuel plume and removing the fuel from the water table as quickly as possible.

Shaw will have all required work plans for submittal to NMED by Nov. 8. Upon approval by NMED, the contractor will be prepared to begin work within twenty-four hours.
