Welcome to the monthly mission report for the 96th Operations Group.  These are the tasks Airmen and civilians are progressing on inside the squadrons and units within the group.

40th Flight Test Squadron

A-10 Litening SE pod software update

Squadron pilots completed flight testing for a software update to the Litening SE pod for the A-10 Thunderbolt II.  Litening SE is pylon-mounted targeting pod capable of producing infrared and visible imagery of both ground and airborne targets.

Navy Trident missile deployment

The squadron deployed to support the Navy’s Trident missile testing accomplishing 17 missions.  More testing is scheduled for later this year.

HARM flight tests

Pilots completed flight testing of the HARM targeting system.  The High speed Anti-Radiation Missile or HARM targeting pod enables pilots to engage targets faster, and more accurately when tasked with suppression of enemy air defense missions.

46th Test Squadron

Developmental and operational testing on Battle Control System-Fixed

Squadron Airmen conducted the final phase of developmental and operational testing on a Battle Control System-Fixed update. The BCS-F is a modern real-time battle management command and control system.  BCS-F provides NORAD commanders with a reliable platform in support of homeland air defense mission.
