Welcome to the monthly mission report for the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office.  These are the tasks Airmen and civilians progressed on in April.

Certification recommendation for GBU-31 version 3 on the A-10C

The combat air force identified the need for the A-10C to employ a penetration warhead. Seek Eagle provided the certification recommendation to begin testing.  The Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center will perform operational testing this summer.

Flight clearance for the small diameter bomb’s optical navigation system on the F-16

AFSEO issued flight clearance to support demonstration flight testing at the AATC in August.  GPS denied environments have become a critical concern, thus the ONS provides optical terrain mapping capability vs. laser and GPS aided.  The program is still in the demonstration stage.

Engineering analysis supports flight testing for a long range anti-ship missile on the B-1B Lancer.

AFSEO will provide separations, loads, and electromagnetic compatibility engineering analysis and will be working closely with Lockheed Martin to support this flight test. This is a Secretary of Defense oversight program that will give an anti-ship capability to the JASSM-like weapon.  This is a joint acquisition program with the U.S. Navy.
