Operational Flight Program Combined Test Force
Software testing
The unit performed field deployment and operational testing on the F-15E’s new software update here and at Nellis Air Force Base.
The team also completed F-15C Mode 5 software testing. The Mode 5 identification system uses various methods to send, receive and process friendly identification data.
40th Flight Test Squadron
Weapon trajectory testing
The 40th FTS pilots conducted flight testing to collect trajectory data on the Advance Precision Kill Weapon System munition in the F-16 and A-10 aircraft. The pilots used Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard Test Center aircraft. The data was used to validate the contractor’s APKWS trajectory modeling.
46th Test Squadron
Space Fence testing
The 46th TS performed cybersecurity testing on a space surveillance system known as Space Fence. The system is used to track satellites and space debris.
Joint preflight integration of munitions and electronic systems
Electronic warfare testing
The unit supported the 53rd Wing in testing a digital electronic warfare system. F-15 and F-16 aircraft underwent various radar threat simulations over three weeks of testing.
The unit also supported the 40th FLTS in their developmental testing of an F-16 software modification. The aircraft underwent various radar threat simulations over three weeks of testing.
