EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The East side of the base will be without electricity for approximately 16 hours Oct. 14. The outage will last from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The outage will allow 96th Civil Engineer Group personnel to change out switches on the main power lines and routine maintenance.
Operations and support missions will be impacted.
The following facilities will be closed due to the outage: aero club, auto hobby shop fitness center, Hangar 3, Information, Tickets and Travel and East side lodging. Outdoor recreation will be open, but unable to accept credit cards. The Breeze dining facility will offer a limited menu during this time.
People who work on the East side of the base are encouraged to prepare or remove any refrigerated items to avoid spoilage.
