40th Flight Test Squadron
Pod testing
The squadron performed two flight tests on legacy LITENING pods with updated software using M7-software-upgraded F-16. The LITENING software enhancements include improved marine and air-to-air tracking performance, datalink connectivity and laser spot track.
Aircrew also performed flight test on upgraded LITENING pods using the Suite-8 software-upgraded A-10.
Inter-range data system
The squadron along with the Eglin command and control facility supported ground and flight testing of an inter-range data system for the Air Force Seek Eagle Office. The system is used to observe streamed flight test telemetry.
