2007 hurricane seasons begins

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Since the Atlantic Hurricane Season officially opens June 1, Team Eglin members should gear up now for what is expected to be an above average hurricane season, according to a recent advisory issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Hurricane Center. The 2018 hurricane season officially begins today.

Even before the season kicked off, the Emerald Coast and its military bases already endured an almost direct hit from Tropical Storm Alberto.

The Eglin website has a hurricane preparedness page that provides links, videos, tools and information about what to do and how to react in the event of a hurricane.

Also, the latest official announcements regarding base activities and actions in the event of a pending hurricane will be the Eglin website and Facebook page.
