The Breeze Dining Facility recently won the 2019 John L. Hennessy Award for best food service operation in the Air Force (Region One).

The Hennessy Award is presented annually to Air Force installations with the best food service programs. Winners are selected based on their display and execution of excellence in management effectiveness; force readiness support; food quality and production; employee and customer relations; training and safety awareness.

“This year’s Hennessy evaluation results not only showcased our team’s ability to hit home runs, but showed it took an entire team across Team Eglin to win the award,” said Maj. Jeremy Boeing, 96th Force Support Squadron commander.  “I am extremely proud of how Eglin’s food service team delivers daily ‘grand slam support,’ and this award only highlights what we do each and every day for Team Eglin.”

The trophy will be presented May 17 in Chicago.

Staff Sgt. Thomas Pasch, 96th FSS, won the Hennessy Traveler Association award for exemplary performance in his day-to-day duties and for demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, attitude and culinary skills.

Pasch will attend an intensive culinary training in Chicago May 16–19, where he will enhance his culinary skills by training with commercial food service industry professionals.

This year marks the 63rd anniversary of the Hennessy Award competition.
