EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- A Boot Camp workout was held at the East Gate track here May 2, in conjunction with National Fitness and Sports Month.
Base fitness, health and fitness groups hosted the hour-long event.
After warm-up exercises, participants rotated through six exercise stations set up for circuit training, for two minutes at each station.
The first round of exercises were for strength training; the second round focused on agility.
The participants finished with stretching exercises.
“It was a fun workout that hit all the major muscle groups,” said Alison DeCaro, 96th Medical Group health promotions coordinator. “The participants got a good cardio and strength workout through circuit training.”
Staff Sgt. Michael Ramos, 96th Force Support Squadron, set up the stations and assisted in planning the exercises.
“It was more challenging than most of the participants expected,” he said. “I’m happy that is was both challenging and fun for them.”
Elizabeta Jerome, 96th Test Wing, found the boot camp a good test of her fitness.
“I like to think I‘m in pretty good shape, but this workout definitely pushed me,” Jerome said.
