Eglin off-base beaches reopen

Eglin’s off-base beaches reopen today, May 9.

The beach openings provide increased access to safe recreational activities for Team Eglin and their families. 

This includes Eglin Beach Park, Princess Beach, Matterhorn and White Point.  The beaches are open for normal operations from dawn to dusk with the exception of Eglin Beach Park.

Eglin Beach Park will open at 10 a.m.  Parking is $5 at the gate with credit card payments only.

Beach park hours of operation through May 21 are Thursday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The park will be closed Monday – Wednesday. 

Beginning May 22, the beach park will be open seven days at week from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Beach park pavilion reservations will not be accepted at this time. Rental equipment will also not be available at this time.

All customers must adhere to current social distancing guidelines including six feet of distance and no more than 10 people in a group. Please avoid groups around the restroom facilities and follow all posted signs.

As a reminder: there is no glass, no trailers, no RV’s or buses allowed.   The beach is swim at your own risk.  There are well-marked areas of the Beach Park that are sensitive for nesting birds. All patrons must abide by the no entry rules for these areas.
