The Tax Center will reopen Jan. 21 for the new tax season.

The team needs volunteers to help with tax preparation and e-filing to base members.  There's no experience required and training will be provided.  Volunteering requires a four-hour commitment, same shift, once a week from Jan. 21 - April 15.  The tax center is an approved alternate duty location with supervisor approval.

All base personnel, civilians, retirees and dependents can schedule an appointment to file their taxes.  IRS-certified volunteers assist with filing federal and state taxes accurately.

The Tax Center requests customers bring identification, social security card, 2024 tax return, 2024 tax forms and bank account information to setup a direct deposit. If applicable, bring daycare provider name, address and childcare expenses.

Also, eligible students should bring out-of-pocket costs for tuition, books and fees for enrollment in post-secondary education.

Most refunds are issued within 21 days.

Appointments are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 – 11 a.m. and 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays are reserved for walk-in clients.

The Tax Center is located in Bldg. 451 on N. 2nd Street, Southwest of the McKinley Climatic Laboratory Hanger.
