EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team Eglin will host its first-ever COVID-19 plasma drive Aug. 17 and 18.
The drive, sponsored by the Armed Services Blood Program, will be at the Eglin fitness center. Volunteers can sign up for a specific day to donate, but walk ins are welcome as well.
Plasma may contain antibodies that can help patients fight the COVID-19 virus. Every donor will be tested for the COVID-19 antibody. A single donation could save up to three lives.
"We owe blood to our fighters," said Capt. Manuel Moncada, 96th Medical Group. "A donation ensures a life-saving blood product is available to the men and women, who put themselves in harm’s way for the security of our nation.”
