Veterans Day message from the Commander

In the years since President Woodrow Wilson declared the 11th of November a national day of remembrance, much has changed. What was once a day to remember the WWI Armistice has become an observance to remember ALL who have served, and all who continue to serve. What has not changed, however, is this nation’s commitment to the defense of freedom and the never-ending pursuit of liberty and equality.

In the spirit of Veterans Day, it is an honor to recognize the recent opening of the Intrepid Spirit Center here. The Center is the first to be opened for the Air Force and will provide treatment for PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and associated pain conditions and psychological injuries that affect our service members. We are committed to the support of our brave men and women through the Invisible Wounds Initiative with this state-of-the-art facility and programs.

As you enjoy your time with friends and family, please take a moment on this Veterans’ Day to remember those who gave the last full measure of devotion, to honor those who served dutifully and honorably, and to thank those still serving. I am proud to serve with all of you.
