EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Influenza (flu) vaccine is available at the Eglin immunization clinic and Eglin primary care clinics to active duty and military service members only during regular operating hours.
The flu vaccine creates antibodies that are developed in the body to provide protection against infection. The flu vaccine is recommended for all age groups six months to 64 years old.
The influenza vaccine is mandatory for active duty and reserve military members. Active duty must bring proof of vaccination to the hospital immunizations clinic if they get it from an outside source.
The same symptoms exist through COVID-19 and the flu. It is recommended anyone experiencing symptoms talk to their doctor about treatment options or a COVID-19 test.
The flu vaccine will not be available to any other Tricare beneficiaries at the 96th Medical Group until adequate vaccination supplies are received.
Walk-in hours for the immunization clinic are Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. The clinic is closed until 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month for training. Tricare resource for Flu Vaccine including participating network pharmacies: https://www.tricare.mil/FluVaccine
