EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- I think we can all agree that this year has been demanding, to say the least. But I think we can also agree that the demands that we have all endured have helped us to re-focus on what really matters — friends and family, health, happiness, and serving one another as we serve our country.
As a Test Wing, we have pulled together as a large, extended family to get the job done well this year. We have shared in one another’s joys, celebrated team wins, learned from the losses, and comforted one another along the way. It’s been tough, but we have persevered.
Ingrained in each of us is the fighting spirit—the ability to remain flexible in the face of adversity, to remain courageous and steadfast in our mission to “Fly, Fight and Win,” and most importantly, to take care of one another. We need the full crew complement to accomplish the mission, as we are stronger together.
Each teammate is vital, so I ask that during this holiday season, you remain vigilant about your physical, spiritual, social, and mental health. Take precautions and use common sense. Reach out to those who may be alone or feel disconnected this holiday season.
This is what I mean when I close my messages with the phrase “Stay safe and stay connected.” I would also ask that you remember our teammates in harm’s way and their families, as they stand guard around the world and here at home during the holidays.
As we wrap up this holiday season and this year, I would like to thank all of you for your dedication and service. I am proud to be a part of the Test Wing Team.
Michelle and I wish you and your families safe and happy holidays! Looking forward to a great 2021!
Stay safe and stay connected.
