EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Jackson Guard is scheduled to conduct a prescribed burn Jan. 30 in tactical training area HF-7 on Hurlburt Field.
The burn will be approximately 400 acres on the Southwestern portion of the reservation - approximately a quarter-mile north of U.S. Highway 98, East of Range Road 253, South of Red Horse Road and West of Power Line Right Of Way.
The transport winds are predicted out of the Southeast with a mixing height at 2,600 feet. Smoke impacts should be minimal in sensitive areas.
The ground ignition burn will be approximately 400 - 500 acres for endangered species habitat improvement.
