Eglin opens its new visitor control center at the Air Force Armament Museum May 1.

Sponsors requiring visitor passes for their guests can pick them up in person or they can request them virtually.

With the virtual option, sponsors can request and receive status updates on temporary visitor passes, one-year visitor passes, and entry authorization lists via a website.

Short Term Visitor Passes

Sponsors will need to provide their DOD credentials and their visitor’s personal information, to include social security number, to allow the 96th Security Forces Squadron Pass and Registration Office to run background checks. Request for passes must be submitted no earlier than five-days in advance to allow for processing time.

An email will be sent to sponsors when their pass status changes. Only sponsors with access to the app will be able to check the status manually.  Once the request is completed, specific instructions will be provided to the sponsor to complete the pass process. Sponsors must be present when picking up passes.

One-year Pass Requests

Only App users will be allowed to use this feature since the sponsor’s unit is an element of getting the one-year pass. The sponsor will select the appropriate pass type, and either generate a template Word document they and their unit commander will be able to sign, or they can generate a PDF template they will fill out with their security manager.

The visitor pass request and the signed memo will then be submitted to pass and registration for processing. Sponsors will receive status updates and be allowed to edit their requests as necessary via the app.

EAL Requests

Only app users are allowed to use this feature. The sponsor must have 10 or more visitors on the EAL before submitting. The EAL is automatically generated and provided to the VCC for processing once all requirements are met, and the sponsor will receive a unique EAL ID and instructions to provide their visitors to ensure base entry once the EAL is validated.

Sponsors will be given a copy of the EAL to protect against any unauthorized modification and will be notified when the EAL expires.

Limitations

All visitors pass requests for foreign nationals must be processed via email. Request can be emailed to 96sfs.s5b.passandreg@us.af.mil.

Approval of an EAL for less than 10 people is at the discretion of the 96th SFS Plans and Programs superintendent.

A benefit of filing virtually is visitors who have visited Eglin AFB in the past year and received a pass may use the express lane when picking up their pass.

The new VCC hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Sponsors can get visitor passes from a security forces Airman on the gate from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
