Emerald Coast Toastmasters' Chapter 1919 held an open house at Luke's Place here, May 12.

"We want to get the word out so people understand what we do," said Heidi Frazier, vice president of membership.

Guest Mark Madamba, subject matter expert for Joint Strike Fighter weapons, is interested in joining.

"The organization and set up was very impressive," said Mr. Madamba. "I communicate pretty well, but you can always improve yourself."

The open house began with a pot-luck lunch, followed by several impromptu speeches. In standard Toastmaster meeting fashion, each impromptu speech was timed and critiqued.

Capt. Heath Holt, test engineer for the 46th Test Squadron, was one of the speakers.
