Nine Eglin Airmen receive Articles 15 Published Feb. 16, 2011 Air Aramament Center Legal Office EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- In January, there were nine Articles 15 offered on base. Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction, however, an Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge. - An airman 1st class assigned to the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, 15 days base restriction, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand for smoking spice. - Two airmen 1st class assigned to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron received reductions to airman, suspended forfeitures of $811 pay per month for two months, and reprimands for smoking spice. - An airman 1st class assigned to the 96th Aerospace Medicine Squadron received a reduction to airman and a reprimand for smoking spice. - A senior airman assigned to the 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron received a reduction to airman 1st class and a reprimand for smoking spice. - An airman assigned to the 96th LRS received a reduction to airman basic, 45 days base restriction, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for smoking spice. - A 1st lieutenant assigned to the 96th AMDS received a forfeiture of $1,000 pay per month for two months ($500 per month is suspended) and a reprimand for dereliction of duty and two counts of sexual harassment. - An airman 1st class assigned to the 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman basic and a reprimand for wrongfully using marijuana. - An airman 1st class assigned to the 366th Training Squadron Detachment received a suspended reduction to airman, forfeiture of $822, and a reprimand for underage drinking. - An airman 1st class assigned to the 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman and a reprimand for failure to go.
