Airmen receive Articles 15

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --  In December, there were six Articles 15 offered on base.

Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction, however, an Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge.

· An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Dental Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failing to submit leave documentation prior to departing and making a false official statement.

· An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a reduction to airman, 45 days base restriction, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failing to go to work, two counts of failing to go to their quarters when put on medical quarters and drinking underage, and being incapacitated for duty.

· A staff sergeant assigned to 46th Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction to senior airman and a reprimand for failing to go to a fitness appointment.

· A senior airman assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman 1st class, 30 days extra duty suspended, and a reprimand for failing to pay a debt.

· An airman assigned to 96th Medical Support Squadron received a reduction to Airman Basic, 30 days base restriction, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand for smoking Spice.

· A major assigned to 96th Medical Operations Squadron received a forfeiture of $3,115.00 pay per month for two months, with the portion in excess of $250 pay per month for two months suspended, and a reprimand for disrespect to a senior commissioned officer, two counts of disobeying a superior commissioned officer, and dereliction of duty.
