10 Articles 15 in November

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --  Ten Eglin members receive nonjudicial punishment under Article 15 in November:

Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge. In the month of November, there were 10 Article 15s offered here. 

- An Airman assigned to 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, 30 days restriction to base, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (member failed to provide military identification at the entry control point) and disorderly conduct. 

- A technical sergeant assigned to 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to staff sergeant and a reprimand for willful dereliction of duty (member failed to have the proper technical data while performing a maintenance operation).

- A staff sergeant assigned to 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received forfeiture of $900 pay per month for two months and a reprimand for negligent dereliction of duty (member failed to refrain from performing a maintenance operation which they were not qualified to perform).

- A master sergeant assigned to 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron received suspended reduction in rank to technical sergeant, suspended forfeitures of $1,742.00, and a reprimand for a false official statement.

- A technical sergeant assigned to 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to staff sergeant and a reprimand for drunken operation of a vehicle and being incapacitated for the performance of duties.

- A staff sergeant assigned to 40th Flight Test Squadron received a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand for failure to go twice.

- A staff sergeant assigned to 513th Electronic Warfare Squadron had the suspended reduction in rank on a prior Article 15 vacated for failure to obey a lawful order and false official statement.

- An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction to Airman, 45 days restriction to base, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for false official statement, larceny of military property under $500 and wrongful appropriation. 

- An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Surgical Operation Squadron received a reduction to Airman, suspended forfeiture of $811 per month for two months, 45 days restriction to base, and a reprimand for operating a motor vehicle while drunk.

- A senior airman assigned to 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman 1st class and a reprimand for failure to go twice and a false official statement.
