AFRL dominates Eglin sports for second year Published Nov. 22, 2010 By Staff Sgt. Angelo Lowrie 96th Force Support Squadron EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- For the second straight year, the Commander's Trophy Cup went to Air Force Research Lab for accomplishments in sports and special events. AFRL earned 810 points throughout the year, taking first place in intramural golf, flag football and bowling. AFRL also placed second in cross country running. AFRL sports were managed by 1st Lt. Joseph Czabaranek. Points were received by participating in intramural and extramural sports, as well as certain special events provided by the Fitness Center. Not only did AFRL place well in most of the events, but they also participated in every event. The Commander's Cup was established to increase participation of sports and special events, and to raise esprit de corps of the units and squadrons who participate in our sports and fitness programs.
