Three receive Articles 15 in September Published Oct. 7, 2010 Air Armament Center Legal Office EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Three Team Eglin members received nonjudicial punishment under Article 15 in September. Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline. It also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge. An Airman 1st Class assigned to the 53rd Test Management Group received a reduction to Airman, 45 days restriction to the limits of Eglin, and a reprimand for failure to obey a lawful order and disorderly conduct. A master sergeant assigned to the 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron received a suspended reduction to technical sergeant and a reprimand for false official statement. An Airman 1st Class assigned to the 96th Medical Support Squadron received a suspended reduction to Airman and a reprimand for failure to obey a lawful written order. For additional information on nonjudicial punishment, see UCMJ Art 15, Manual for Courts-Martial, United States, Part V (2008) and AFI 51-202, Nonjudicial Punishment.
