The Miami HEAT announced today that they will hold their 2010 Training Camp at Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field. The HEAT will be involved in several events here, which is home to the Air Armament Center, four wings and 45 tenant organizations which conduct numerous unique missions.

The team will arrive at Eglin AFB on Monday evening, Sept. 27, at a time to be announced. Eglin will also host a ceremonial event that will introduce the team to personnel stationed here.

"This is a wonderful and unique opportunity to share Eglin AFB with professional athletes from the NBA," said Col. Sal Nodjomian," 96th Air Base Wing commander. "Both teams represent a commitment to excellence and we look forward to learning and sharing our experiences with each other."

"This is a terrific opportunity for our team," said HEAT Head Coach Erik Spoelstra. "The bases will provide the ideal setting for us to focus on basketball and building camaraderie with limited distractions. It also presents us a unique and fantastic opportunity to spend time with the Airmen who defend our freedom. I anticipate our team and each of us individually will benefit tremendously from being around this environment."

Additional details about the visit will be released as they become available.
