Plague PPE
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – 1st Lt. Latasha Westfall, 96th Medical Operations Squadron, discusses triage set up plans with Lt. Col. James Scott, 96th MDOS, during an exercise April 27. The exercise simulated a naturally occurring outbreak of disease involving pneumonic plague. As a result, the base hospital became the main triage site where medical personnel diagnosed the potentially infected. Patients identified as infected were isolated to prevent further spread of the pandemic and for additional surveillance. These exercises are conducted at Eglin to maintain constant mission and emergency readiness. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Anthony Jennings)
