Flu vaccines distribution underway

The Seasonal Influenza Vaccine and H1N1 vaccine will be given in the Eglin Immunizations Clinic starting Nov. 10 on Tuesdays and Thursday between 1:00-3:45 p.m.  Target groups will be expanded as more vaccine becomes available. The Seasonal Influenza Vaccine is currently being administered to the following beneficiaries:
- 6 thru 35 months of age
- greater than 50 years of age
- with high risk medical condition such as pregnancy, chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematologic or metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus), and immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications or by HIV

The H1N1 vaccine is currently being administered to the following beneficiaries:
- children/young adults who are aged 6 months through 24 years
- persons aged 25 through 64 years with high risk medical condition such as chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematologic or metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus), and immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications or by HIV
- parents/caregivers of children who are less than 6 months old
- pregnant women
- civilian health care workers
