7 from Eglin receive Articles 15 Published July 9, 2009 Air Armament Center Legal Office EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- In June, seven people stationed here were issued Articles 15. Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. An Article 15 can be the final disciplinary action triggering initiation of an administrative discharge. · An airman 1st class, 96th Force Support Squadron, received a reduction to the grade of Airman, forfeiture of $200 pay, 14 days extra duty, 14 days restriction to base, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty, damage to military property, and driving under the influence. · An airman, 96th FSS received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman Basic, forfeiture of $150 pay, 14 days restriction to base, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand for failure to go. · A senior airman, 33rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman 1st class, forfeiture of $200 pay, and a reprimand for assault consummated by battery and drunk and disorderly bringing discredit to service. · An airman, 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, received a reduction to Airman Basic, 45 days restriction to base, that portion of the restriction in excess of 30 days is suspended, 45 days extra duty with that portion of the extra duty in excess of 25 days suspended, and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. · An airman 1st class, Detachment 3, 366th Training Squadron, received a suspended reduction to the grade of Airman, suspended forfeiture of $784 pay and a reprimand for dereliction of duty. · A senior airman, 53rd Wing, received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman 1st class, 15 days of extra duty, and a reprimand for failure to go and drunkenness/incapacitation of duties. · A staff sergeant, 96th Security Forces Squadron, received a reduction to the grade of senior airman, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for wrongful use of a controlled substance.
