5 Airmen receive Articles 15 Published June 5, 2009 Air Armament Center Judge Advocate EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Five Airmen received Articles 15 on base in May. Nonjudicial punishment under Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and also promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. · An airman 1st class assigned to 96th Security Forces Squadron received Reduction to Airman, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for underage drinking. · A senior airman assigned to 1st Special Operations Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to Airman and a reprimand for wrongful use of marijuana. · An airman 1st class assigned to 33rd Operations Support Squadron received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman basic, 30 days restriction to the base, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand for disorderly conduct and bringing discredit to service. · A senior airman assigned to 33rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction to airman 1st class, forfeiture of $300 pay and a reprimand for dereliction of duty and assault with an unloaded firearm. · An airman 1st class assigned to 46th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction to airman basic, with reduction below airman suspended, 45 days extra duty, that portion of extra duty in excess of 20 days suspended, and a reprimand for a false official statement.
