Eglin expo showcases leading technologies Published May 27, 2009 By Minty Knighton Team Eglin Public Affairs EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The base's annual Technology Expo begins June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the officers club. Over 35 national businesses will showcase technologies including image analysis and digital presentation equipment, reusable green products, new and upcoming communication technologies and ruggedized equipment, like laptops and printers which are durable enough to be dropped from 20 feet. Attendees get a chance to see displays and talk with company representatives to determine whether the new products can meet their needs to complete a mission safer, faster, cheaper and even cleaner, according to Lacey Livingston, National Conference Services, Inc. The expo has been traveling to different venues for over 20 years. "We've been doing these shows for Eglin for several years now," said Livingston. "Although this is the first year for it to be sponsored by the Emerald Coast AFCEA, (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association), they've always worked closely with us." The expo is free and open to the public.
